The Dutchess County Fair is a tradition for thousands of Hudson Valley families. Each year there’s food, fun, entertainment, exhibits, animals, and more to see and enjoy. This year, they've added some new features and exhibits to make next week even more fun.

Here's the basic info you need, the 171st Dutchess County Fair opens Tuesday, August 23 and will run until Sunday, August 28. The fair is open from 10 to 10 each day and everything goes on rain or shine. Admission to the fair is $15 for adults with children under 12 admitted free.

You can also save yourself some money on special days during the fair; Tuesday admission is only $10 per adult, Wednesday you can purchase a wrist band and ride as many rides as you want for only $25, and on Thursday admission is only $7 after 5 pm. Seniors and Military with ID are $10 every day and parking is free.

The Grandstand Schedule looks good this year, with something for everyone. Third Eye Blind opens the fair on Tuesday night with tickets $25 day of; Wednesday at 7:30 Parmalee and Old Dominion take the stage at 7:30 with tickets also $25; Thursday's entertainment is a free show featuring the original Eagles Tribute band, Hotel California at 7:30; and on Friday, 94.3/97.3 The Wolf welcomes Chase Rice to the Dutchess County Fair at 7:30 with $25 tickets. On Saturday and Sunday, don't miss the Brigade Action Sports Extreme with shows at 2 and 6 each day and tickets $5 per person with children under 5 free.

They will also have the first ever Spork Run, a vendor food contest, where you can vote for your favorite dessert, beverage, dinner, and sides. Don't miss the Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean, pig races, the annual Search for Talent, the Mad Science Shows, and so much more.

New this year, to help you keep track of each day's schedule and where everything is happening, the Dutches County Fair is introducing it's first ever app. You can get notifications when events you want to see are coming up, plus you'll even be able to purchase tickets trough the app. The app can be downloaded at either the App Store, Google Play, or dutchesscountyfair.com.
