August is halfway over, but there's still lots of summer fun to be had throughout the Hudson Valley. Here are a few ideas with links to find even more events going on this weekend.

 

Saturday, August 18; 10-5: Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Airshows presents Kids Fly Weekend. Bring your kids for a weekend of education, flying, and fun. The first 25 children get a free model to build and fly. See what it's like to sit in a historic aircraft, talk with a  piolet, take a ride in an antique car, have lunch, and more. Saturday, August 18; 10-12:30: See Chainsaw Carving demonstration at Bethel Pastures Farm B&B in Jeffersonville with Kevin Ryerson. You can see how the magic happens. Find more events going on in Sullivan County and the Catskills this weekend.

Saturday, August 18: 3-7: Take a ride on the Peace Train in Kingston, celebrating flower-power. The train departs Kingston at 3, 5 and 7 pm and travels up Hurley Mountain. Admission is $18 adults, seniors/military/veterans $16, children ages 2 through 12 $12. Find more events going on in Ulster County this weekend.

Saturday, August 18; 9-11: Don't miss the 1st 4*H Boat Regatta, sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County. The fun takes place at Fancher-Davidge Park in Middletown. While only 4*H members will be competing, the public is welcome to come and see as boats hand-constructed of only cardboard and duct tape take to the water.
