Memorial Day weekend is here, and while we take time to remember and honor those men and women who lost their lives fighting for our freedom, it also signifies the beginning of summer. There's a lot going on in the Hudson Valley this weekend, so you have lots of choices.
Saturday, May 28; 9-4: The Annual Frederick W. Vanderbilt Garden Association Plant Sale will take place in the parking lot at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park with thousands of annuals and perennials for sale at reasonable prices. This is their biggest fund-raiser of the year.
Saturday, May 28: The 13th Annual Yard-Sale-O-Rama in Liberty. Various sales will be held throughout the town and village. Pick up your yard sale map at area businesses and shops.
Saturday, May 28-Monday, May 30: Woodstock/New Paltz Arts & Crafts Fair at the Ulster County Fairgrounds. Featuring the high quality juried creations of over 200 artists and craftspeople from across America, plus live performances by the Hudson Valley’s best musical talent. No pets please.
Saturday, May 28: Kayak Tours with Storm King Adventure Tours. Paddle in the shadow of Storm King, tour the ruins of Bannerman’s Island, enjoy a sunset or full moon tour or take a spellbinding trip into the seclusion of the Moodna Creek Marsh. Advance reservations are required.
