As the unofficial start of summer creeps closer it's time to start planning for all of the county fairs in the Hudson Valley.

We're lucky to live in the Hudson Valley where there are still plenty of local farms growing produce and supplying fresh meat and dairy to the area. Every year those hard-working farmers get to show off their talents at the county fair.

Of course, the fair also means plenty of incredible fair food, attractions and rides. It's a can't miss event for most Hudson Valley residents and visitors to the area.

In 2018 the Orange County will kick off fair season starting on July 12. The Orange County Fair will run through July 21 and this year the fair has partnered with brand new rides and entertainment company. Dreamland Amusements will be bringing a whole new experience to the Orange County Fair.

The Ulster County Fair will start on July 31 and continue through August 5. This fair is very popular because of their "Pay One Price" policy. All rides and amusements are included with the price of admission. July 31 is also carload night where it just costs $50 for an entire car full of people to enter the fair.

The area's largest county fair will take place from August 21 through August 26. The Dutchess County Fair attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Grandstand concerts have already been announced for The Wallflowers on August 21, Chris Lane on August 23 and Kip Moore on August 24 with more acts to be announced soon.

The Columbia County Fair begins on August 29 and wraps up fair season on Labor Day. New this year, the fair will introduce truck pulling on Friday night. Other events include a demolition derby and monster tractors.
