As we sit in the middle of a brutal heat wave, it's good to remember that snow isn't that far away.

As a Hudson Valley resident, it's your civic duty to complain about the weather. Throughout the winter all anyone can talk about is how miserable they are and how they can't wait for those warm summer days. Flash forward to August and everyone is moaning about the heat, dreaming for that first snowfall.

Well, it looks like we don't have too much longer to wait for snow. Believe it or not, the white stuff will be falling before you know it.

According to The Weather Channel, the earliest recorded snowfall for our area happened back in 1987 when it snowed on October 4. That's nearly just a month away.

While we could see snow that early, it's more likely that we'll have to wait until November. Specifically, November 16 is the average date that the Hudson Valley area sees it's first snow.

So don't let the current heat wave get you down. As you huddle around the air conditioner just keep in mind that we'll see winter weather very soon. And we'll all be complaining about how much we miss summer.
