Released on May 10th in 1994, Weezer's Blue Album changed a lot of things for me musically. I had been in a really weird grunge/pop-punk never-ending bounce back and forth. I had heard "Undone" and things shifted. It was an entirely different vibe and feel. It had elements of both grunge and punk, but was definitely neither.

The lyrics were both weird and completely familiar. Of course, I bought the album as soon as it hit stores and "My Name Is Jonas" floored me. FLOORED ME. The guitar work, the distortion, the vocals, the pace change in the post chorus.

I can still sing along to every single song whenever the album plays in my house, almost 22 years later.

I'm not really one for albums anymore. Too many years in radio has conditioned me to zero in on singles and move onto the next thing. But the Blue Album will always have a hold on me.

I don't think my top albums list is a solid set. It's fluid and will change with my attitude and feelings over years, but I feel like the Blue Album with be with me forever. It covers everything.

Is it in my top 5? Definitely. Top 3. Probably.

I'm listening to it now.

Yeah, Top 3 of All Time. No doubt.
