Win $500 for Your Classroom Library Thanks to James Patterson
Author and Hudson Valley native, James Patterson is giving back to schools and libraries throughout the United States.
Since 2015 Patterson, who is from Newburgh and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy, has been donating millions to school libraries. Page Six is reporting that Patterson has raised his donations from $1.75 million to $2 million.
According to Page Six, Scholastic Inc told the Associated Press that the Patterson Pledge will be distributing "4,000 gifts of $500 each to teachers around the country."
In a statement to the AP Scholastic Book Club Judy Newman said "Teachers often have to find their own funds and use their personal money to buy books and build fresh classroom libraries. This is why we at Scholastic Book Clubs are truly inspired by James Patterson’s commitment to offer real help to teachers in this work."
