Windy Advisory in Effect Sunday for the Hudson Valley
As Winnie the Pooh would say, "It's a blustery day." Sunday looks like a windy day for the Hudson Valley.
The National Weather Service has an issued a wind advisory for the Hudson Valley and a good chuck of the Northeast.
The advisory will go into effect Sunday at 6am and run until Sunday night at 6pm. The NWS says expect 20-30 mph winds, with gusts up to 50 mph.
They warn us to be on alert for downed trees and power lines, causing some power outages in parts of the area.
A low pressure system will moving through the Hudson Valley overnight Sunday, and will cause the winds. You'll also notice, it will be colder, as the winds will shift to come from the northwest. The temperatures will be warmer than Saturday, but the wind may make it feel colder.
The local forecast for Poughkeepise, calls for winds 15-20 mph and gusts 30 mph. The daytime high will around 50.
