Dessert toppings are very serious business for a woman in Michigan.

We are all very particular about what we put in, on, and with our ice cream, but hopefully not as particular as this woman, whose tantrum over the quantity of sprinkles on her order forced a clerk to call to police.

Kim Cole, Mason County sheriff, said around 8:16 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, a woman, along with a male companion, came into the store and ordered ice cream.

When the ice cream was handed to the woman, the transaction took an unexpected turn, Cole said.

"The clerk called police because the customer was upset because she didn't have enough sprinkles," Cole said.

The male with her attempted to calm her down as she screamed at the clerk, Cole said. The female then attempted to hit the male.

The two left the store in a vehicle and the clerk managed to get the license plate number. However, they were out of the area by the time authorities arrived to the scene.

Why this clerk didn't just give her another spoonful of sprinkles, I don't know, but a part of me respects the gentleman for refusing to allow himself to be bullied by a crazed dessert nutjob.

I'm not a sprinkles kind of guy, so I can't really relate to this level of rage over them. That being said, I was at the Hoopla frozen yogurt shop in Poughkeepsie this weekend and impressed by the local flavor of the sprinkles; almost every local high school was represented:

I didn't lose my mind over them, though. Don't worry.
