Mary Wolcot and her husband have owned the Bird Haven Christmas Tree Farm in Warsaw, N.Y. for 18 years.

Hundreds of families come very year to pick out their special tree to place in their living rooms. You'd think this would be a happy place, but no one told that to 22-year-old Sarah Schulz.

WHAM reports that Mary Wolcot responded to an ugly scene at the farm where Schulz and her husband angrily argued in front of their kids. The confrontation was noticeably upsetting the kids, according to Wolcott, so the co-owner stepped in to attempt to calm the situation. Wolcott said the family did not have the tags for the tree they wanted, and she tried to explain the process to the them.

Cooler heads would not prevail however, as the Schulz family continued to fight. Things then got so out of hand that Wolcot was forced to ask them to leave.

That's when Sarah Schulz loudly complained about having to get her kids back to the car. Then, Mary Wolcot spoke up - something she would regret. She told 13 WHAM

I should have shut my mouth, but I didn't. I threw my arms up in the air and said, 'Wah, wah, wah...You can't even handle your own kids.' The only part I remember is someone coming flying at me, she ran at me.

She took her fist and just lambasted me across the bridge of my nose and my glasses cut my nose.

Wolcott suffered a bloody nose and a bruised cheek. Police arrived and arrested Schulz.

She was charged with assault and criminal mischief. So much for Christmas cheer.
