WRRV Christmas Playlist: Whirling Dervishes – You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch

There's plenty of one hit wonders when it comes to holiday songs, and the Whirling Dervishes are one of them. And their song was a cover!

We all love the Grinch. It didn't even seem to be a religious movie, regardless of the term "christmas". But all our hearts grew 3 sizes when we saw the Grinch get happy. And looking back at it, I like the Jim Carrey movie too. I wasn't a fan when I first saw it, but it's better now.

The Whirling Dervishes made a name for themselves when they covered the song that we can all sing from that movie, probably in our sleep. It's a great alt-rock version, and it deserves more love than it gets.
