WRRV Concert Calendar: Powerman 5000 at The Chance

I will ALWAYS have a soft place in my heart for "When Worlds Collide". Not totally indicative of their entire catalog, but completely themselves and more than a little bonkers. It hit in a music world that seemed either very dark or extremely serious. Powerman 5000, while living in the harder side of the music spectrum, always seemed like they were enjoying themselves immensely. They always seemed to be having a good time, and the music came across as loud and at times aggressive, but never really heavy or angry.

Powerman 5000 is hitting The Chance on January 12th. It's one of the first shows of the new year. Orgy is going to be opening up for them too.

It's going to be a good, old-fashioned, heavy rock show.
