Ah, the good ole days of the Tri-State Emo Punk scene. Between Long Island and New Jersey, the emo scene around Manhattan went bonkers in the 90's. Lifetime and others like them kicked it off with the hardcore scene, and eventually that morphed into Taking Back Sunday, The Movielife, Bayside, Brand New etc. We even saw huge bands like My Chemical Romance come out of that scene. It was a crazy time to be able to drive around a see local music.

Thursday formed in 1997 in New Brunswick, NJ, and quickly became a darling of the scene. They signed to Victory Records, eventually released "War All The Time", had a huge hit on their hands, and went on hiatus a year later. They got back together, released 2 more albums and eventually used the words "disbanded" to describe their situation. They hit the big time, and hit the rocks almost as quickly.

The awesome thing is that Thursday is back together and touring again. If you missed the frenetic live show they put on in the mid 2000's, now is your chance to catch it!

Thursday is hitting the Upstate Concert Hall on April 28th! They'll be playing with Touche Amore, Basement, and Cities Aviv.

Honestly, Thursday is one of those shows I've never forgotten. I was working in New Jersey at the time, and caught them more than a few times. They are a SHOW. The energy, the fun, the crowd. It's all pretty awesome.

It felt like they burnt out pretty quickly, so don't miss them this time around.
