Among all the emo/pop-punk bands that at times went kinda creepy and dark (My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, etc), The Used hit the "Movie song that will creep you out" vibe out of the park. They had long used some creepy imagery. Box of Sharp Objects, Buried Myself Alive, I Caught Fire are just some of the titles they used to really get their point across.

However, "The Bird And the Worm" started creepy with a string section and a door squeaking slowly closed. Lines about things "devouring the soul" are pretty common.

Listen. We used to play this song an awful lot back in the day. It's just as creepy now as it was then. Put it on your Halloween playlist.
