• Games will take place on Saturday December 27th at the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh.
  • All games are played 3 by 3.  Games shall be 25 minutes long each (not broken into halves).
  • Team entry fee is $300. Single registrants will be placed on a Free Agent List
  • Payment of the entry fee is required by December 23rd, 2014. Teams/Free Agents will not be officially accepted into the Tournament until full payment of the entry fee is received. If payment is not received by the due date, the team will forfeit its position and an alternate team will be selected.
  • Teams who do not show up for the Tournament, forfeit, or are otherwise disqualified, will not be refunded any portion of the entry fee.
  • Tournament officials reserve the right to determine schedule and competitive divisions based upon age, player ability, experience or other factors.
  • Divisions will be divided by skill level provided by the team captain at registration.
  • Teams receive: Regulation win = 3 points, Overtime win = 2 points, Overtime Loss = 1 point and Regulation Loss = 0 points.
  • Games that end in a tie will result in a 3-minute run time overtime period. The team that scores the most goals during that period wins. If still tied, there will be an additional sudden-death overtime where the first team to score wins.
  • Championship games that end in a tie will be decided by a 5-minute run time overtime period. The team that scores the most goals during that time will be the winner. If still tied, 5-minute run time periods will continue, where the team that scores the most goals during that period wins; until a winner is determined with one minute breaks in between each period.


  1. All players are required to sign a release prior to playing. No exceptions. Teams play at their own risk.
  2. Minor penalties: hooking, holding, tripping, interference – typical hockey penalties -- result in a goal allowed to the offended team.  Offended team also receives possession of the puck.
  3. Major penalties: all offenses of a physical nature – including, but not limited to high sticking, cross-checking, elbowing, roughing etc – will result in a goal allowed to the offended team.  Player causing major penalty is ejected for the remained of the game and his team will play shorthanded (2 players) for the remainder of the half.
  4. Teams need to be ready to play at their designated start time; if a team does not have four (3) players ready to play, they will be penalized 1 goal for every 2 minutes the game starts late.
  5. Abuse of off-ice officials – including, but not limited to – yelling, swearing or arguing – will be considered a major penalty.
  6. All players are required to wear HEC approved helmets and proper hockey skates, along with shins, elbows, and gloves.  Other protective equipment optional but highly recommended.
  7. Each team will have no more than six players on a roster.  No fewer than four.
  8. No goalie equipment or goalie sticks allowed.  No player can serve as a designated goalie.  Each player on ice is expected to play the entire surface.
  9. Players are required to have matching light AND dark team jerseys.
  10. There may be off-ice officials to assist in game scoring, penalty calls, puck replacement etc. Off-ice officials will have final say in all game play decisions.  Off-ice officials reserve the right to award goals-against  teams whose play is detrimental to the “spirit of the games.”  In the event of “player-called” game play, players are expected to behave in a “spirit of the games” manner.
  11. There will be no fighting.  Players involved in on or off ice fights will be ejected from the tournament with no replacement and no refund of player entry fee.
  12. There is no checking.  Checking offenses result in a minor penalty.  Flagrant fouls result in major penalty.
  13. No slapshots.  Slapshot fouls result in a minor penalty to the offending team.
  14. Players shall not fall or lay on the ice in an effort to protect or block the goal area.  Violation results in minor penalty.
  15. Lifting the puck above knee level is prohibited.  Violation results in loss of possession.
  16. If the puck goes out of bounds, last team to touch puck losses possession.  During restart, defending team must give opponent at least two stick length’s space.
  17. All goals must be scored from the offensive side of center ice.
  18. No offside calls.  No icing calls.
  19. Following each goal, the team that scored will announce the score in a clear and precise manner.  This includes goals awarded due to penalty.
  20. In the event of a tie, games will be played “sudden-death.”  Possession to beginning O.T. decided by captain’s coin-toss.
  21. All games are played running time.  Substitutions are made “on-the-fly” or while a new puck is being put in play.  No stoppage of play following goals or penalties.
  22. Players can play for only one team.  Rosters will be confirmed by start of games on tournaments first day.
  23. All goals must be scored from the attacking side of center ice.
  24. Making contact with the puck using your stick above the waist will result in a change in puck possession.
  25. Illegal players and teams: If the tournament director(s) determine that an illegal player has participated in the tournament (1) the player(s) shall be immediately removed from the tournament. (2) The team using the ineligible player(s) will receive a 0-1 forfeit loss in each of the games played with the illegal player(s). Illegal players are any participants that violate the minimum age requirements for their division, register for a division below their skill level, or who has not been documents on the roster turned into the tournament director by the team contact.
  26. Townsquare Media will utilize their best efforts to conduct the Tournament as planned. However, Townsquare Media reserve the right to cancel or modify the Tournament in their sole and absolute discretion. Townsquare Media reserve the right to determine the number of teams that will participate in the Tournament. Once the Tournament begins, in any format, the entry fee is nonrefundable.
