So many of us in the valley are shocked by our latest electric bill.  The extreme cold weather has caused a great demand for energy and that means higher prices.  It's difficult to understand how our bills could go up so much.  Some people are paying double or triple what they paid at this time last year.  The worst could be coming!

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission wants the Hudson Valley to become a "new capacity zone".  This will boost prices in an attempt to make our area more attractive to potential developers of power plants that will supply New York City.  This kind of increase will hurt residents and small business.  We just can't afford it!  Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro was on Mix this morning talking about trying to stop this increase.  Listen to our interview.
