A license plate that marks 9/11 is getting closer to fruition. What will it look like and how close are we getting to having this at the DMV? A bill that would establish a special 9/11 Commemorative License Plate passed the New York State Senate on June 10, 2014.  Money from the $25 plate for ($20 off it) would go toward funding scholarships for the families of September 11th victims. The law is required because New York stopped issuing commemorative plates in 2004, although existing ones can be "updated" such as those honoring sports championships. The bill now goes to the Assembly.
