Music is cyclical, and I've been waiting for the pop-punk genre to swing back around for awhile now. I think it's finally almost here, and we might have bands like "Neck Deep" to thank for that.

Now, obviously, there's been other pop-punk bands doing their thing for awhile, but there's been a lot of big time bands away from that genre. Foo Fighter, Imagine Dragons, Walk The Moon. The spotlight has been away from the power chord for awhile now. (I should mention bands like The Wonder Years have been killing it quietly, without much fanfare, and they deserve more than they get.)

HOWEVER, I think we're about to see another pendulum swing back to a poppier sound in alternative music, and I think bands like Neck Deep are going to lead the way.

They're also on the Alternative Press Tour this year, and you can check them out in NYC at Webster Hall on March 11th. They're playing with some of the other fore-runners for the pop-punk scene, State Champs and Knuckle Puck. You should go.

Enjoy!
