Is there a Cinderella of Poughkeepsie?
Does Cinderella exist, and does she live right here in Poughkeepsie? The evidence I discovered this weekend might prove it to be true!
The Glass Bedazzled Slipper
I went for a walk Sunday afternoon, and I stumbled upon something glistening on the side of the road. As I got closer, I realized that it was a high-heel shoe adorned with rhinestones. The shoe gleamed in the spring sun as I basked upon it. My neighborhood is filled with college houses occupied by Marist students. Perhaps one individual needed to rush home to submit that paper to Turnitin before the stroke of midnight? I can see it now- the luxurious limo that she turned up to Mahoney's or Darby's in reverted back into a run-down taxi. Her outfit changed from a sparkly cocktail dress back into sweatpants and a hoodie. And as she ran home to submit said paper before it were too late, she abandoned one of her sparkly high heels before it turned back into a croc. Yes, truly a fairytale for the ages.
In All Seriousness...
In all seriousness; though, if this high heel was on the road because something bad happened, I found it near Hawk Lane and Inwood Avenue in Poughkeepsie. I left it where I found it. If someone got hurt, disappeared or anything sinister, I hope this gets to the right channels so it can assist in any case. I hope that nothing malicious happened, but you never know. More than likely, someone just had too good of a time on Saturday, lost their shoe, and that's all it is.
