Experts Say Re-Gifting is Fine!

Now that the holiday gift giving has officially come to a close you may find yourself with well...some unwanted items. But is it ok to pass those unwanted items to another...a.k.a re-gifting....apparently it is! A recent study by American Express found that three out of four Americans think re-gifting is socially acceptable. The report also found that on average consumers re-gifted three to four presents last year. According to etiquette experts the trend has become more acceptable in light of the recession...

"Several years ago, etiquette rules would not allow re-gifting," said Jacqueline Whitmore, founder of The Protocol School of Palm Beach. "After the recession, it's become more popular and acceptable."

But experts say even if re-gifting is generally considered acceptable, there are rules!
