New WRRV artist Cannons made some waves Tuesday night when they took to Twitter and tagged singer Harry Styles. Simon tried to get to the bottom of things during a recent interview. Cannons originally formed in 2013 when childhood friends Ryan Clapham and Paul Davis started a search for a singer to round out the lineup. They met vocalist Michelle Joy on Craigslist and the rest is, as they say, history.

Their debut EP Up All Night was the result of their chance meeting and was released in 2014. They found success in LA initially through the support of some local DJs and the EPs Night Drive and Shadows followed. Earlier this year they connected with Netflix having a song placed in the hit show Never Have I Ever.

Cannons just made some waves when they teased a collaboration with singer/songwriter Harry Styles. Formerly of One Direction, they went on hiatus in 2015 but not before becoming one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Cannons couldn't say much about the potential collab other than, whatever it is, might come out 'soonish'. In the meantime check out their latest single 'Fire For You'.

Simon seized on the opportunity to get to know Cannons a little better by peppering them with difficult questions like who's your favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and what's your favorite board game? And it turns out there are mutual friends in play. Cannons are managed by Jon Siebels, guitarist of Eve 6, who we've been fortunate to see roll through town to play The Chance every few years since the early 2000s.
