Hudson Valley Beer Store Held Up At Knifepoint
Beer Universe on Washington Avenue in Kingston was robbed late Tuesday evening. The Daily Freeman reports the robbery occurred between 8 and 9 p.m., the suspect was reportedly wielding a knife.
The husband of owner Raman Kaur stated there was only one employee in the store at the time and they were uninjured. There is no word on what was stolen or how much. The suspect didn't attempt to take off with any beer.
Beer Universe is located across the street from Dietz Stadium and is located in the old Friendly's building. They first opened in 2007 and seek to offer beer drinkers, brewers and vendors a place to connect.
In other news, Friendly's was my first job. The fact that all Friendly's restaurants are gone from New York is a little sad. Their ice cream is still available in supermarkets but it's just not the same. However, the fact a beer store now occupies Friendly's makes it all a little easier.
