We are lucky in the Hudson Valley to have so many places we can visit to learn about the animals that share our backyards.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy nature and you are in Orange County I suggest one of two places. There is the Trailside Museums and Zoo at Bear Mountain State Park and also The Hudson Highlands Nature Center.

Both places offer an opportunity to get up close to wild animals that call the Hudosn Valley home. They also have programs that young and old can enjoy to learn more about the creatures we might encounter on an adventure in the local woods and fields.

Hudson Highland Nature Center Offers a Chance to See Nature Up Close

Growing up in Cornwall I visited the Hudson Highlands Nature Center (HHNC) with my school. At that time they had one location. They have now grown into an organization with multiple locations.

The original center is still in the Village of Cornwall, New York on the Boulevard. The second campus is at 120 Muser Drive in Cornwall. Both spots offer programs and nature trails.

One new development at the HHNC was shared today on social media. Someone recently anonymously donated money to pay for Ronan The Red Tail Hawk's flight enclosure. The HHNC took to social media to share its gratitude with everyone who contributed to its mission.

We are beyond grateful to an incredibly generous anonymous donor who has made a HUGE difference for Ronan our beloved Red-tailed Hawk, as they fully funded Ronan's new flight cage! (Hudson Highlands Nature Center via Facebook)
