The man who served as the treasurer of a Manhattan little league organization is finding himself in hot water after allegedly stealing almost six figures' worth of funds.

According to the New York Post, William Jacobvitz, who managed the funds for the New York Gothams Youth Baseball, "a program that provides athletic training to teens, many from underprivileged families," was arrested and accused of embezzling $90,000 from the league over the course of 50 transactions. He allegedly used the funds for such things as personal car repairs.

His misdeeds were uncovered by another member of the organization after that individual inspected bank records.

Mr. Jacobvitz admitted to having taken money from the organization, but insists the amount was far less than has been stated. First, he claimed he took only $20,000, and then increased this to $50,000.

The judge set bail at $20,000, less than the $50,000 sought by District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.
