State Police from the Hudson Valley arrested a man after they found him to be in possession of nearly $4,000 worth of cocaine.

On Wednesday around 8:45 p.m., State Police from Cornwall stopped a vehicle on the New York State Thruway near Cornwall for a traffic violation. Police allege, the driver, 27-year-old Franluis Morel, of Utica, was in possession of over two ounces of cocaine.

Morel was transported to State Police in Newburgh and charged with 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, both class B felonies.

Morel was arraigned before the Town of Cornwall Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
