Hudson Valley police helped search for a police K-9 who got lost overnight in a mountainous area.

On Thursday, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers responded to a request from New York State Police for help searching for a missing Connecticut State Police K-9.

The bloodhound got loose when its handler fell in the mountainous area near the Town of Southeast, officials say.

Two rangers helped with the search along the border of Putnam County. The dog was found stuck in a fence on the Connect side of the state line Friday morning.

The dog wasn’t injured, police say.
