When Poughkeepsie Was Mentioned on Louie
For years I've been of fan of the show Louie. It wasn't until I moved to the Hudson Valley when I realized how close Poughkeepsie is to New York City. It's only natural that it could come up in some of the episodes that's based out of the city. Regardless of what your opinion is about Louis CK based on recent events you've got to admit that he showed some Hudson Valley love in his series on FX.

Louis C.K.’s Horace and Pete is far enough in the rear-view that Louie fans remain optimistic for a sixth season somewhere down the line, but the comedian doesn’t seem to be changing his tune on the beloved FX dramedy. Not only does the series remain on hiatus, C.K. himself says “I don’t think I have stories for that guy anymore.”

Both Louis C.K. and FX have been honest about the fact that Louie’s return will be up to the comedian himself in time, a prospect overshadowed by C.K.’s recent work on the independently-produced Horace and Pete. That series has finally “wrapped” its season, but C.K. isn’t feeling particularly awash in new Louie ideas just yet.

We’re a few episodes deep into Louis C.K.‘s unique Horace and Pete experiment, the near-weekly release of an original sitcom dramedy distributed entirely through the comedian’s website, and FX must feel at least a little green, especially with Louie on indefinite hiatus. FX head John Landgraf apparently offered C.K. a home on FX, and may consider a second window eventually.
