ALERT: Black Bear Spotted Near Poughkeepsie/Pleasant Valley Area

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department is reporting a black bear sighting near the areas Knollwood Lane, Hornbeck Road and Caroline Avenue's near the  Route 44/-Pleasant Valley line.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department advises residents of a black bear sighting that has been reported on Hornbeck Road, Caroline Ave and Knollwood Lane. These locations are close to Route 44 and the Pleasant Valley line. 

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation reminds residence to always reduce food services outside if possible. Clean BBQ grills, leave garbage inside a secure area, remove bird feeders, and clean up pet areas. Do not try to approach or spook the bear.
