A voluntary recall is underway for any customers who recently purchased a popular on-the-go kids applesauce brand. According to a Facebook post by GoGo squeeZ applesauce founder and CEO  Michel Larroche, the recall was brought about after food product residue was found in two product pumps at their plant in Michegan.

No illnesses have been reported, but anyone who purchased GoGo squeeZ pouches with 'best before dates' between 12/4/15 and 3/4/17 can contact the company to request a product replacement voucher. Other products such as GoGo squeeZ Organic or yogurt line are not affected by the recall. When questioned by a parent as to the type of illness that the recalled product could lead to, the company had this to say via FB while not completely answering the question:

Many of us are parents here, so I understand and appreciate your concern. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this issue. We encourage you to contact your health care provider if you are concerned. We have not found evidence of food product residue in pouches. As a precautionary step, we are voluntarily recalling specific pouches.

Production at the plant has been suspended indefinitely until the cause of the issue can be determined. This is not the first product recall the company has experienced. In 2015, applesauce pouches were recalled over mold concerns.
