Band You Should Know: Movements

Movements. Off of the Fearless Records roster.

There is something to this band. The straight forward guitar. How the lead singer will flow right from a scream into singing lyrics, as if it's all the same. The drums being ever present, but supporting the entire band.

This song has something of a early-90's alternative/mid-90's post punk feel to it. There is a smattering of Screaming Trees, of Afghan Whigs, of Fugazi, that makes this band instantly recognizable and accessible, but their own attitude and style make them new and refreshing.

Alternative is in a whole new vibe right now. Indie Dance and electronics are leading that way, and that's AWESOME. I've thought we needed more fun for awhile. But this might lead us back down a path we've been before, and that's terrific too.
