Wine juiceboxes, wine boxes, "slap the bag"--is cheap wine reaching beyond the walls of dorms and into every day life? This morning, Brandi and I discussed the phenomenon of inexpensive wine, specifically the type of fortified wine popular with the "transient" community. Transient is what newspapers now call homeless drifters, because apparently they aren't homeless drifters anymore, even if they drift and don't have a home.

So we were joking about how we should get our hands on some Thunderbird, some MD 20/20, some Wild Irish Rose, and do taste tests every week where we choke down high-octane and high-sugar wine that results in a surefire hangover. This is still a plan I would like to pursue.

But in doing research for them, I found this article on the Atlantic trumpeting the joy of boxed wine.

Which got me wondering: is that the next trend? Or is it already here? Do you care if wine comes from a bottle or a box or a bag in a box?

And most importantly, what bad wine product should Brandi and I subject ourselves to for your viewing enjoyment?
