TheaterSounds Presents Witty Comedy RED HOT PATRIOT February 27

TheaterSounds Hudson Valley Playreading Series will give a dramatic reading of “Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass wit of Molly Ivins” by Margaret and Allison Engel. The play celebrates the brassy wit and character of newspaper columnist and best-selling author Molly Ivins. The reading will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Catskills in Kingston on Saturday, February 27, at 7:30 p.m.

A true Texas original, Ivins was a sharp-tongued wit who skewered the political establishment and the 'good ol' boys' with unforgettable humor and wisdom. Playwrights Margaret and Allison Engel, twin sisters and longtime journalists, dramatize Ivins' courage and tenacity. TheaterSounds founder, producer and artistic director Nicola Sheara directs Equity actor Nancy Rothman* and cast regular Ken Thompson.

Reviews declared it a "memorable portrait of a crusading journalist who (became) one of the nation's most influential and compassionate political columnists" and “an inspiring piece of theater."

Now in its 15th Anniversary season, TheaterSounds has brought more than 160 professional actors in some 140 classic and new plays to its Kingston venue. The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Catskills is located at 320 Sawkill Road, 1.5 miles north of Washington Avenue and 1.5 miles south of Route 209 in Kingston. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation. For more
