This weekend, when you are getting ready for the football game. But forgot to go to the liquor store. Here's a few things you can do. Go ahead and stop and take a deep breath. It will be ok.

Go to the freezer, do you have any vodka in there? Remember the bottle that you got last Christmas that you thought you would never drink, because it is a weird flavor, but kept it just in case someone came over you could offer it to them. Not in the freezer, look in the back of the cabinet. There is probably something hiding in the back.

Here is what I found in my freezer.

How long it has been there, I am not 100% sure. I do know that I have moved and took it from one freezer to another, and also got a new fridge and simply moved it to the freezer of this one. My opinion, vodka doesn't go bad. Especially if it has been kept seriously cold.

Look now for any canned carbonated beverage, if your vodka is fruit flavored, embrace the Cherry Soda, the flavored seltzers. If you have Lemon-Lime soda, you might have just achieved vodka nirvana.

Lemon lime soda should always be a back up for vodka. The cans are the perfect red solo cup serving size, and the flavor is neutral enough to make you enjoy most flavored vodkas and keep non-flavored vodka from tasting too offensive.

Fill your red solo cup (this is football, not a fancy cocktail party) with ice, pour the soda in and then add 3 ounces of vodka, give it a little stir and leave the fruit out. Football games are not big on fruit. Feel free to serve with a side of chicken wings, sub sandwich, pizza or just about anything else you might enjoy while watching football.
