A member of one of the core artists of WRRV's history has died of an apparent drug overdose. Matt Roberts, the original guitarist for 3 Doors Down, was found dead early this morning in his hotel room in Wisconsin, according to TMZ.

Matt was one of the founding members of 3 Doors Down, back in the mid 90's. He had been with the band the entire time until he left the band in 2012 due to health reasons. He helped the band to their biggest hits, including the song above "Kryptonite".

Matt's father told TMZ that prescription pills may have been involved, but that the overdose was accidental.

Matt Roberts was just 38.
