According to Greene County DA Joseph Stanzione, certain medications are not allowed to be taken by officers on patrol.

According to Sheriff George Seely, as soon as he became aware of the altered report, he informed the Special Investigation Unit from Albany. The investigation ultimately led to Braden's arrest. He apparently was attempting to hide the prescribed medication he had been taking from Seely.

Former officer Daniel Braden plead guilty to the misdemeanor charge of official misconduct. It's not clear at this time what sort of punishment he will receive. Although he's acknowledged wrongdoing and plead guilty.

Sheriff Seeley said Braden was a canine officer and a good cop. He had served as a deputy for 10 years, having just resigned June 21st.
