‘Fugutive from Justice’ Arrested in Dutchess County
A Dutchess County man wanted in Pennsylvania was found and arrested in the Town of Wappinger.
On Wednesday just before 11 a.m., New York State Police from Wappinger stopped a car allegedly speeding on New Hackensack Road in the Town of Wappinger. An investigation revealed that the driver, 34-year-old Herbert L. Bell Jr. of Poughkeepsie was wanted in another state.
Bell was wanted for a violation of probation bench warrant stemming from a conviction of theft by deception, a felony, in Washington County, Pennsylvania, police say.
Bell was arrested as a fugitive from justice. He was arraigned at the Dutchess County Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court on Oct. 24.
