Any time a marquee franchise comes out with a new installment in the series, it's a big deal. Whether it's Star Wars, one of the many major, huge deal Marvel titles, the Hunger Games, Jurassic Park, or anything else, it becomes a big cultural phenomenon

We live in the era of proven commodities and sequels. Hollywood is much, much less likely to take a chance on something new or quirky or weird or outside the box. They want the money, and they want the sure thing. It doesn't get much more "sure thing" than having a huge name in your movie, or a huge character, or a franchise people will fork over money to see, guaranteed, regardless of how utterly inconsequential and formulaic it is ('sup, Avengers: Age of Ultron?).

There are few series' more long-lasted and beloved than those of good ol' 007. So, with that in mind, and with Spectre coming out this week, let's take a look back at some of the more fun, if not over-the-top gadgets that the double agent has in his arsenal.
