Everyone from Metallica, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones, even Lady Gaga performed at this legendary New York City music venue over the years. What began as an ice rink the early 1920's, ended up being one of the city's longest running places to see live music, The Roseland Ballroom.

That all changed in 2013, when it was announced the club would close and be demolished to make room for condos. Now, these are not the kind of condos that your or I could afford, but those meant for the ultra-rich. So part of New York City's culture gets ripped away to make room for some rich guy's 3rd home. They've been slowly demolishing the place over the past year and a half and these latest pictures show a gutted Roseland, taken from a nearby high rise building.

I'll always have memories of seeing my first Gov't Mule show there in October of 2001, or that amazing Silverchair show in 2007.

Check out this really cool Metallica performance from the Roseland Ballroom from '98.
