PicoBrew hit Kickstarter about 6-9 months ago, and was pretty cheap when it first launched. Now that it's hitting the stores, it's going to be around $1000, and claims that it can brew beer in 1-2 hours that tastes like "tap beer".

So, here's the question. Would you try this for A THOUSAND DOLLARS?

A friend of mine just opened his own brewery in New Jersey. He spent a metric butt-ton of cash to do things the right way. He developed his recipes, perfected his style and continues to do so. He's also mass-producing beer to sell to the masses, so the scale is obviously different.

I'm a little skeptical at the idea of a 1-2 hour brewed beer being as good as a beer crafted by professionals for however long it takes. (Honestly, I have no idea. The whole concept of brewing beer baffles me, despite the effort my friend has put into educating me about it.)

So, there's the question again. Would you guys spend a grand to brew 1 dozen bottles of your own beer in 2 hours?

BTW, my friends brewery is in Hackettstown, NJ, and you can find it by hitting up the link at Man Skirt Brewing.
