Intoxicated Dutchess County Man Arrested in Driveway for DWI, Speeding, and Possession of Drugs, Police Say

A Dutchess County man was pulled over in his own driveway for driving under the influence, speeding, and possessing drugs. The man also allegedly attempted to hide drugs.

New York State Police from Poughkeepsie stopped 46-year-old Stephen C. Pastorek, of Millbrook for speeding and failing to maintain his lane of travel on State Route 82. Police say the defendant pulled over in his driveway and was seen throwing items out of his window.

According to authorities an investigation revealed that Pastorek threw two bags that contained approximately 2.5 grams of cocaine from the vehicle. Additionally, Pastorek was found to be intoxicated at the time of the stop.

Pastorek was charged with 4th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, felonies, and driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Pastorek was arraigned in the Town of Washington Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. He is due to reappear in the Town of Washington Court on March 11.
