A Kingston man, who’s on parole, was arrested after police say he a violated an order of protection and then struck and kicked a female several times.

On January 23rd around 3:00 a.m. Kingston Police responded to Howland Avenue. Upon arrival police allege they found an injured 26-year-old female. An investigation revealed that 29-year-old Paul A. Jackson, of Kingston, illegally entered the residence and then struck and kicked the woman several times.

Police say the victim had a Stay Away Order of Protection against Jackson. He came to her residence against order. Police found Jackson still inside the victim’s home and arrested him.

The female was transported to Hudson Valley Health Alliance, treated and later released.

Jackson was charged with aggravated criminal contempt and 1st-degree criminal contempt, both felonies. He was additionally charged with 3rd-degree assault and 2nd-degree criminal contempt, both misdemeanors.

Jackson is currently on parole for 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was processed, arraigned and remanded to Ulster County Jail on $5,000 bail.
