A Wappinger woman was arrested and faces several charges after a domestic dispute was reported to the New York State Police.

Tajanae A. Kingwood, 20, was arrested on Dec. 10 after officers responding to the call were informed that Kingwood had used a kitchen knife to cut the victim after an argument. According to police, the victim had initially refused medical treatment but reported for treatment later in the day for a wound on his forearm.

Further investigation showed Kingwood had violated an active court order which prohibited her from having physical contact with the victim, authorities said. As a result Kingwood was charged with second degree assault, second degree aggravated criminal contempt, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Kingwood was arraigned by Judge Sullivan in the Village of Wappinger Justice Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail. Her next court appearance was scheduled for Monday.
