This Friday is the 13th and imagine spending it at the place where we first met Jason Vorhees.

Ch, ch, ch, ah, ah, ah. Did you know the camp where Friday the 13th was filmed is near the Hudson Valley? You can even take a tour of the place but you had better hurry as the spots are filling up fast.

Friday the 13th is one of the most iconic horror movies of all time. Jason Vorhees and his hockey mask have become symbols of horror and Halloween. The film and main protagonist are so popular that it has spawned 12 other films based off of the original film. Some are great horror flicks and others are not so amazing like Jason X.

Friday the 13th takes place at Camp Crystal Lake. I had no idea but it turns out that is a real place and is not far from here. Camp Crystal Lake is a fictional camp made up for the film but the real camp used at the backdrop for the film is called Camp NoBeBoSco. The 380-acre lot is used as a Boy Scout camp in New Jersey's  Kittatinny Mountains.

You can book a tour of the camp. It has even been called a bucket list trip for horror movie fans. It would be like staying in the motel that Norman Bates ran in Psycho.

Did you know this place was so close by? Have you ever been to this location before? Do you think you would be brave enough to visit? If I find a machete hiding in the woods I'm out of there.

20 Places in New York Even Locals Refuse to Visit

Someone said that Number 1 on the list is "filled with every STD and drug you can imagine," while Number 15 is the "most depressing place [they've] ever been."
