A man who the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office called a “stalker” will serve jail time after trying to kill his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his 3 children.

53-year-old Sidney Brown, of Mount Vernon, plead guilty to one count of 2nd-degree attempted murder and one count of 2nd-degree strangulation, both felonies. Brown will serve 19 years in state prison.

According to the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, on April 8, 2015 around 6:30 p.m., Brown confronted his ex-girlfriend and stabbed her repeatedly in the neck, torso, back, and thigh.

The attack occurred in the parking lot of the Irvington Metro-North Railroad station. It was seen by a number of witnesses including the Irvington Fire Chief who broke up the attack.

Both the victim and defendant were treated at local hospitals. Officals say the two had been domestic partners and have three children together.
