Parents who are customers of Stop & Shop should be aware of this important recall.

According to the companies website, Stop & Shop has announced a recall for their store brand of children's cough medicine. Instructions on the label show an incorrect dosage, which could potentially result in an overdose.

The specific brand of cough medicine is Care One Children’s Mucus Relief Cough. Customers who have purchased 4 oz. bottle of the cherry flavored medication with a UPC code of 34152031837 and an expiration date of 3/17 should immediately throw it away.

All Stop & Shop stores in our area have removed the product from their shelves because of the printing error on the instructions. Stop & Shop says that they will give you a full refund if you come back to the store with a receipt.

Luckily, there have been no reports of overdoses. The recall was just announced on Saturday, so parents are asked to check their medicine cabinets and be sure that they did not purchase the medication.
