The Dutchess County Fair kicks off on Tuesday August 23 and runs through Sunday August 28, 2016 10am to 10pm each day at the fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.

Here are some things to know before you go:

Tickets are going to cost you $15 for adults, which is for almost everyone over the age of 12. Kids under 12 are free. Yes, there is a discount for Seniors (over 65) and for Military service members. Seniors & Military, you will need to buy those tickets at the gate, but you can save yourself some money by purchasing tickets in advance.

Other ways for you to save some money? Do you want to go on the first day? Tickets on Tuesday Aug 23 are $10 per person that day. Want to go later in the day? Say, after 7PM? Then go on Thursday after 7PM where it will only cost you 7 bucks to get in. Do you love the rides? Want to ride the rides? All of the rides? Then go on Wednesday Aug 24 where $25 will get you a wrist band that will allow you to ride alllll of the rides.

If you want to see one of the Grandstand Performers, you will need to buy a separate ticket for that. (Your admission to the fair is additional). The price will vary by performance.

But make sure you do keep this in mind, the following things are prohibited:

  • Pets (Service animals are allowed, but bring their vaccination records)
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, heelies, or segways.
  • Cans, bottles or coolers are not allowed.
  • Shirts and shoes are required at all times.

One last very important tip: don't forget to bring sunscreen!
