Many services are free or at a low cost to address the financial barrier to accessing treatment. This necessitates donations, public support and fundraising, such as the 5K, to help underwrite those services to assist those who may not be able to afford mental-health services.

Nourish Your Mind founder Jessica Sullivan, LSCW.

“This is a wonderful, invigorating opportunity to participate in a physical-fitness event while also benefitting psychological well-being. Joining the 5K also helps underwrite services for those without the financial resources or appropriate insurance to seek vitally needed care.”

The 5K course starts and ends at Warwick Valley Middle School, 225 West St, Warwick, N.Y., 10990, and winds through neighborhood streets. The day kicks off at 8 a.m. with check-in for participants. At 8:30 a.m., speakers will greet the crowd, followed by the walk/run kickoff at 9 a.m. The post-event awards presentation is at 10:15 a.m.

I have heard that taking cool showers if beneficial to your health but this is stepping it up.
