Two Dover men were charged with burglary after police investigated a suspicious persons report.

New York State Police arrested 25-year-old Stephen C. Franco II and 29-year-old Nicholas Gast, both from Dover for 2nd-degree burglary, a class C felony.

On Monday around 1:15 p.m., Troopers were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 for two suspicious white males carrying bags after leaving a residence located on Gobblers Knob Road. Police say an investigation revealed that Gast and Franco had burglarizing the Gobblers Knob home.

Both were arraigned at Town of Dover Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail. Gast was sent to prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond, Franco $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. Both defendants are scheduled to reappear in Dover Court on March 25.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and both may face more charges.
