An Ulster County man was arrested for possession of a number of firearms.

On Saturday, members of the Kingston Police Department responded to a residence and recovered many firearms. Members of Special Investigations Unit began an investigation into who left the weapons at the home.

The investigation led detectives to the Marbletown area. With the help of New York State Police, they located and arrested 40-year-old Christopher Rarich, of Marbletown.

Rarich was charged with 4th-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and 4 counts of 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Rarich was arraigned in Kingston City Court and released. Police say more weapons were recovered and additional charges are possible.
