An Ulster County woman is accused of driving while impaired by drugs with 3 children in her car. Police say the children may have been kidnapped.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office charged Reyanna A. Clunie, 26, of Ellenville with 3 counts of driving while ability impaired by drugs under Leandra’s law, assault, felonies resisting arrest, 3 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration, misdemeanors, and violations for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Deputies responded to a 911 call of a vehicle operating in an erratic manner. The vehicle was located traveling south on Route 209 in the Town of Wawarsing.

Police say as they attempted to stop the car the vehicle fled. The car was eventually stopped in Ellenville.

Clunie was allegedly driving while impaired by drugs. As authorities tried to place her under arrest she’s accused of fighting with police. An Ellenville Police Officer and a Deputy Sheriff were injured during the scuffle.

Clunie was eventually subdued with a Taser.

Police say they learned the 3 children in the vehicle were of no relation to Clunie and may have been taken without the knowledge or permission of their parents.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely.

Clunie was arraigned in Village of Ellenville Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Ellenville Police Department.
